Summary: “Why don’t they just make Banks captain and be done with it?” Lots of Charlie angst!

I’ve updated a fanvid I made a few years ago, November Rain. As always, feedback is craved, since there have been over 300 downloads and not a single person has given me any form of feedback. Those are not good odds! All the same, I’m proud of the vid, and it was fun for me to do. So, enjoy!
This vid has been remastered, using higher quality clips and editing the bits that I was never particularly happy with. Things have changed a little, and it is now one vid instead of two. See below for download details.
Vid Title: November Rain
Artist: Guns N’ Roses
Fandom: The Mighty Ducks
Clips from: D1, D2, D3 and Don’t Cry and November Rain by Guns N’ Roses
Summary: This is an AU vid, in which Casey and Bombay were married and Charlie is their son. This vid (or vids) deals with their break-up and Bombay’s self-destruction that follows it, not to mention Charlie’s reaction. See the Notes for more details.
File Size: See below (by the download links)
Format: Real and Windows Media
Notes: I can’t exactly remember what my thought process was, but I eventually challenged myself to make a video based on Without You by Del James (bear with me on this), using only footage from The Mighty Ducks, and the Without You music videos by Guns N’ Roses (for the non-rabid GN’R fans, that’s Don’t Cry, November Rain and Estranged).
The story of Without You is ultimately about the self-destruction of a man who appears to have everything, but still manages to screw it up. Theoretically Gordon could be that man, he’s rich, he’s well educated, he’s loved, and he could screw it up easily and lose everything. This vid tried to explore that. I have had to use footage from Don’t Cry and November Rain by Guns N’ Roses because, obviously, Casey and Gordon never got married in the Ducks fandom (but did in my mind, I love that pairing), and so forth. Any questions, hop over to the forums and ask there. I’ll answer in great detail, I assure you.
If the vid didn’t make sense, try reading the commentary.
Feedback: Always welcome. If you liked it, tell me. If it didn’t make sense, let me know, your opinion will not break me. I have never actually had any feedback on this vid, despite there being over 300 downloads. Was it really that bad?
YouTube link removed, thanks to a scary Cease & Desist from BabyCow about my Boosh vids.
Well, I’ve updated the Queertet layout, in nice simple blues. Not only is this new layout more friendly to browsers with settings larger than 1024×768, but it’s also neater and cleaner.
Additionally, I’ve fixed a load of broken links and uploaded almost 900 caps from D2. I’ve updated the archive and installed a forum. I hope that this goes down well. I miss this site being a cool place, instead of a broken one.
If you run into any problems or crash into a broken link, just let my know by emailing me or posting a comment here.
The comments feature on the blog now works, and still has spam protection. I’m a very happy bunny. In theory most links should work now. If they don’t, leave a comment.
Currently the comments option appears to be down. While trying to make it spam-proof, I seem to have made it comment-proof as well. Unfortunately, CodeGrrl.com, the website that holds every single answer to life’s questions, is down, and I can’t get help with it. Then again, nobody’s really commenting. I’d rather be spam-proof for the time being. After all, if anyone needs me, they can email.
Well, I know I haven’t actually uploaded all of this yet, but we’re getting somewhere… finally!
Things are being moved over to this blog, and also, when I can fact it, I’m moving the fic from the automated archive at queertet.co.uk to the new archive.
You may wonder why I’m doing this. Well, even if you don’t care, I’m going to tell you. I’m absolutely in love with DreamHost, and I really don’t see the need to pay for loads of domains hosted with various different companies now that I’ve found one that will let me have many domains, all hosted on one package. So, slowly I’m moving the domains that I already own over to DreamHost. They really are brilliant hosts, I can’t say enough good things about them.
Summary: The Ducks wrap up their first school year at Eden Hall with the yearly marriage project. Seven of the players are more on the verge of divorce than others, though, when the whole project starts to get completely out of hand.
Rating: T (look how well I’m adjusting…)
Timeline: The Ducks’ freshman year in high school, two weeks before Summer Break.
Dedication: I was going to say none, but I have to dedicate it to Kristine (NYgoldfish54) and Sam (trulyforgotten9) as I wouldn’t have become a better writer without their help.
Thanks To: Myself. Thank you for learning to write like a normal person.
Cimmy’s Notes: This is a complete re-write of the fanfic I originally wrote back in 2002. New (hopefully not as annoying) characters, new pairings, better plot—the concept is still the same, though. I haven’t really written a fanfic since 2003, but it should be better than some of the crap I used to write.
Disclaimer: The Mighty Ducks belong to Disney. I own Fred, Kate and Daniel. Lex belongs to NYgoldfish54. (Lex was originally not in this story, but Kristine suggested I’d use her, and I just couldn’t pass that up…)
